Hello! My name is Carly. I can write pages about other people and experiences, but I always feel so weird writing about myself. And to be honest I have been dreading this part of the website, but here we are…

I have been in awe of photography since I was a little kid. How can a camera stop time and make a keepsake with a simple click of a button? My siblings and friends would always get annoyed with me for wanting to document everything. I think I was afraid I would forget parts of my life. Or that they would forget theirs. I know most memories can replay in your mind, but my camera was my safety net. I wanted some moments to last forever, and I knew an image could do that. You look at moment in time, no matter how big or small, and everything comes flooding back.

I always wanted to make a career out of it, but there were countless excuses holding me back. Most that were driven by fear and insecurities. What if I wasn’t good enough? What if you didn’t like my work? What if I ended up not loving it if it became my “job”?  Then I had my second daughter in the middle of a pandemic and had handfuls of time to reflect on my life. I am also a part-time barber which I LOVE, but photography kept seeping into my thoughts. I want to show my children that they can do anything they want. I don’t want them to ever hold back on their dreams and regret not trying something they always wished could become a reality.

So with a simple mind shift and a complicated camera upgrade, I took a leap of faith and Elarie Photography was created. My two girls, Ella and Marie, inspiring me every day to be a better person and do what I love most.

It has been a true honor so far to work with so many beautiful souls, and create images that tell your story. I am having the time of my life! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting and trusting me. I am looking forward to meeting many more of you and encapsulating who you are.
